Reiki is a popular Japanese healing method going back 5000 years. There are 19 forms of Reiki. Usui is the original.

Reiki is pronounced ray-key. Rei means universal and ki means life energy. Hence, Reiki is the energy of the universe that is available to all.

A Reiki practitioner has been trained to bring that universal energy into herself and direct it to the client in a gentle manner. The focus of this energy transfer is the hands. The client will typically lie on a massage table, fully clothed. The practitioner will begin a series of hand positions, placing her hands lightly on the client's body and holding until a balance is felt. The client will experience feelings of deep relaxation, peace and love flowing into her.

Physical pain often disappears and organ function improves. Reiki can be done on-the-spot, making it a practical choice for many nurses and paramedics around the world.

Reiki energy will go where it is needed most. Deep healing occurs. Very gentle, calming and uplifting. Music can be played. There is minimal or no talking during treatment. Sessions are approximately one hour long.
